Creating new worlds through art is my life-long passion. Recently, I discovered a new passion for caring for rescue horses. Being around these graceful creatures inspired me to capture their spirit and beauty in portraits and paintings.
Born in Europe, I had the benefit of seeing incredible Baroque art from a young age. Mattia Preti, the Italian baroque artist, and Carravagio were early influences. As a self taught artist, I have explored a variety of mediums and work predominantly with oils, colored pencils, watercolors and acrylics.
The style of my work has evolved through children’s book illustration, abstract, Trompe-l’oeil, and whimsical realism. I paint as I am inspired. It can be impressionistic one day and realistic the next. It brings peace and fulfillment to me to paint as I feel a wave of excitement for a new composition.
My work has sold as fine art prints, commissions, greeting cards, and home decor products. Three illustrations have been licensed by a home and garden company. Most recently, my colored pencil drawing “Percheron” was selected by the American Academy of Equine Art for the 2018 Spring Showcase.
