My name is Louise Clarke and I am an entirely self-taught artist from Northern Ireland originally, though now living in the Falkland Islands. I have had a strong interest in wildlife and the natural world from a very early age, and as a young child I was always drawing pictures of animals from books and magazines...my inspiration comes simply from my love of wildlife and the natural world!
I work solely in pencil - coloured or graphite. I love to work in pencil because it allows me to achieve very fine detail, creating the realism that I strive for in my pieces. I love the challenge of bringing the subject to life on the page through capturing expressions, life in the eyes and tiny details in the fur.
My first solo exhibition was called "Forces of Nature" and took place in Parliament Buildings at Stormont in Northern Ireland in June 2013
